Movie night at Monte
MONTECASINO - Guests received the good old-fashioned dinner and a movie treatment at Jacaranda FM's Ladies Night event at Montecasino.
Radio presenters, Kriya Gangiah and Cassie Clarke, who host the show Kriya and Cassie on Jacaranda FM put together the movie night experience.
Gangiah and Clarke are passionate about movies and the entertainment industry, and decided to spoil their listeners with a well-rounded experience incorporating good food, sparkling wine and a new movie release, Laggies. Guests were first entertained at the newly revamped Donatella’s restaurant in Montecasino where conversation and Pongracz sparkling wine flowed and awesome goodie bags were handed out. Guests then made their way to the cinema complex where they were treated to popcorn and cold drinks for the movie. Laggies was the perfect movie choice for the occasion.
The movie stars Keira Knightley as a directionless 28-year-old at the brink of finally growing up, who starts a friendship with a sweet but troubled teenager and her divorced father, played by Chloe Grace Moretz and Sam Rockwell respectively.
As the friendship grows Knightley’s character, Megan learns fundamental lessons about herself. The title of the movie refers to the lagging feeling people sometimes get in life and the process of holding onto the past rather than growing up. Laggies is a coming of age tale with a difference with plenty of heart-warming moments combined with side-splitting humour.
