St Peter’s College hosts it’s third annual sunset carols

PAULSHOF - Carols by Candlight was held at the St Peters Preparatory School in Paulshof.

The annual year-end function is in its third year and attracted an audience of about 3 000. Various stalls were setup on the grounds of the school which offered a variety of different foods, clothing items, toys and gaming kiosks which supplied endless entertainment for parents and children alike.

Families could be seen making their way throughout the course of the afternoon carrying picnic baskets, cooler boxes, camp chairs and blankets in preparation for the evening’s festivities with carols sung by the St Peter’s Boy and Girl Choirs.

The Christmas spirit was in full swing as 2012 Idols winner Monde Msutwana made a guest appearance singing with the choirs. Rock outfit Gangs of Ballet also joined in on the festivities closing off the evening with acoustic renditions of their hit songs. All proceeds raised through the concert will go towards the St Peter’s Foundation for bursaries for underprivileged children to attend the school.

Spokesperson for the school Diane Fraser said, “It was a wonderful atmosphere which built the sense of community for the St Peter’s family.”
