Road markings continue to cause concern

CRAIGAVON - Wrong road markings are continuing to top the list of complaints being raised by Johannesburg north motorists, the latest one being raised by Craigavon resident, Craig Yeun.

Yeun said a constructor left wrong road markings on the corner of Willow Avenue and Campbell Road in Craigavon. He said accidents were waiting to happen because cars travelling down Willow Avenue from Cedar Road were speeding through the Campbell Road four-way stop without stopping.

“The Word ‘STOP’ has been painted over with black and yellow arrows now marking the direction of the lanes. The stop signs are still there, but motorists are being influenced by the arrows and not stopping,” said Yeun.

He added that the new traffic circle on Campbell Road which intersects with Poplar Avenue was not well marked resulting in motorists driving over the circle.
