Care Crew keen to team up with Future City Fourways
FOURWAYS – Community initiative, The Care Crew, is slowly proving that a litter-free environment is possible.
According to Stephen Rayner, CEO of Fourways-based construction company, Raycon, The Care Crew is a joint venture with the City of Johannesburg’s Pikitup service and was established to create sustainable employment in Fourways and to clean up William Nicol Drive and other main, local traffic routes.
“Having seen all the litter and debris at almost every intersection in Fourways, I wanted to do something to clean up the area as well as play my part in addressing unemployment in my community,” Rayner said.
Rayner added that The Care Crew was proving to be a great way to achieve all these objectives.
On the subject of teaming up with Future City Fourways, Rayner explained that The Care Crew fitted in perfectly with Future City Fourways because the two initiatives shared a vision of a cleaner and safer Fourways achieved through community collaboration.
“Supporting Future City Fourways and helping it to succeed in its application to council for a city improvement district will mean we will have another partner in the area and additional services on the ground to address grime and, in the case of Future City Fourways, crime on William Nicol Drive and Witkoppen Road,” he said.
Rayner added that The Care Crew initiative also includes a recycling programme.
