Call to join FCF drive
FOURWAYS - The incorporation of Future City Fourways (FCF) as a Section 8 (of the Companies Act 71 0f 2008) Non Profit Company has been completed at the offices of the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission, and we are now running as a corporate entity.
This is according to the FCF team who said this was another important step in the compliance with the requirements of obtaining an Improvement District Licence from Johannesburg City Council.
The team will shortly begin the process of putting in place necessary infrastructure and audit requirements, and investigating financial payment mechanisms and systems.
The team is driven to succeed in installing a management company that will stop the degradation, and reduce by-law contraventions and crime on William Nicol Drive and Witkoppen Road, by installing significantly increased security presence and visibly improved cleaning services on these routes. These services would top-up Council’s existing services.
Most of FCF’s operational people live in the area and are invested in Fourways. All of the members are actively committed to the success of the project.
Within the first two months of its public participation launch, on 9 July at Montecasino, FCF has held four large public meetings (including a 2 September function with 80% of the Beverley area home owners) and many small group and individual meetings with members of the affected public, namely, those who own property (residential and commercial) within the vicinity of the targeted traffic routes.
Within this short timeframe, FCF has gained the support of a great many area stakeholders and been given more than 100 letters of support.
With the installation of an FCF improvement district company, everyone linked to William Nicol and Witkoppen will benefit from safer and cleaner streets. With crime on those routes being curbed, areas bounded by them will experience a reduction in crime.
In order for FCF to succeed in its application to the City of Johannesburg for an Improvement District Licence, it requires 50% plus one of the affected public’s written support. Letters of support will be included in FCF’s application to Council.
