The Douglasdale police are currently investigating an armed robbery which occurred at a guest house in Magaliessig on 29 May.
Manager Justine Louw explained that two of the guests, an elderly couple from the Eastern Cape who were in Joburg for business, were followed from a shopping centre back to the guest house and robbed in the car park by three suspects driving a white Hyundai IX35 with registration BV2ONTGP.
According to Louw, the couple was robbed of their cash, jewellery, handbag, keys and groceries.
Warrant Officer Balan Muthan, head of communications for the Douglasdale Police Station said, “The matter is under investigation, we are currently viewing video footage of the incident and are following up on all leads.”
He urged residents to be on the look out for the vehicle and if spotted to please contact the Douglasdale police or police on 10111.
