Freinds of Free Wildlife’s Wendy Brodie said, “We know nothing about a tiger on the loose. The only thing of interest is a dead lactating jackal found on Main Road recently.”

Brodie added that they will, however, keep Fourways Review updated should they hear anything.

The metro police spokesperson, Edna Mamonyane said, “We are aware of the allegations that there is a tiger on the loose in the area but we cannot confirm these allegations as yet. We intend to release a statement once we have concrete information about this matter.”

Previous reports that a tiger was allegedly on the loose on Main Road and Witkoppen Road were false.

This comes after concerned residents contacted radio stations stating that a tiger escaped from Montecasino.

The reports further stated that Animal rescue teams were on the scene searching for the tiger and that motorists were urged to keep their windows closed when driving around the area. A journalist is currently on his way to the scene to investigate the matter. As more information becomes available, we will update you.

Initial report: Fourways Review is glad to report that all of this is however, untrue.
