Imfundo Educare filled with Christmas spirit
FOURWAYS - Do good for Christmas. Read more here.
Imfundo Educare recently hosted a Christmas party for the children in Diepsloot.
The little ones were surprised with Christmas gifts, a face-painting session and a nice hot dog to end the day with full tummies.
Keshikiloe Matabane, a teacher there, supported the outreach throughout the day. The two people who made this exceptional day come to life were Mrs Johannesburg 2016, Jaci Tibbit and Busi Roberts, Mrs Pretoria 2016. They wrapped all the gifts, made the hot dogs and painted the faces.
“We need to do this to help our community, otherwise if we don’t help each other we will not be able to survive,” said Roberts.
Imfundo Educare would like to that the following sponsors for the generous donations and help in improving the community:
- Debbie Zackey from Trefoil for sponsoring all the Christmas gifts
- Eric Chapinski from Food Boys for sponsoring the Russian cheese grillers
- Megan Kruger from Fournos Bakery at Fourways Crossing for sponsoring the rolls
- The Apple of His Eye, which is a platform and a vehicle created to assist women and girls discover their identity, and embrace their purpose. Roberts started this organisation.
“If it were not for them, then none of this would be possible,” said Roberts.

Tibbit added that the Rolemodels Foundation pageant is really about beauty with a purpose; ordinary women stepping forward to achieve the extraordinary – inspiring hope in the heart of the community. The pageant is a charity fundraiser to assist projects of the non-profit organisation (NPO) Act 71 of 1997, Rolemodels Foundation.
The foundation intervenes in impoverished communities around the country, specifically targeting the three most vulnerable groups within a community such as early childhood development through the Imfundo Educare and Skills Development Project, abused women and children through the Asante-Neo Life project and restoring dignity to senior citizens through the Tamakhulu project.
“Seeing the smiles on those children’s faces was priceless,” said Tibbit.
