Christmas message from the CPF chairperson

FOURWAYS – The Douglasdale Community Policing Forum advised the community to be vigilant during the festive season.

The chairperson of the Douglasdale Community Policing Forum (CPF), Jean Berdou, advised members of the community to be vigilant and cautious this festive season.

“The Douglasdale CPF wishes that community members are able to exercise necessary caution this festive season and that the community has a crime-free Christmas period,” Berdou said.

“Most crimes committed during the festive season are theft out of motor vehicle, as such we urge the community to ensure that their cars are locked before entering a shopping centre, ensuring that all valuables are kept out of sight and making sure they park their cars where there is CCTV footage.”

Berdou explained that when criminals were successful in a particular area, it attracted more unlawful elements and to break that cycle, vigilance was necessary.

“It remains for the Douglasdale CPF to wish the community a fantastic Christmas and we ask them to remember the men and women in blue who are serving us throughout the festive season.”
