FNB highway sign gets chirps on Twitter
FOURWAYS – Bank officials say they have alerted the authorities.
An unidentified person, presumably a disgruntled client, has created a social media buzz after putting up a large banner of the FNB logo on the highway between Fourways and Rivonia, on the Main Road bridge, to share his/her feelings about the bank and its services.
It was placed in such a way that it was hard to miss when driving in a northerly direction.
Largely displaying that the FNB abbreviation stands for ‘Flippin Negligent Bankers’, the contents of the banner were up on Twitter very quickly and spread over other social media. No accusations can be made yet, but it definitely got the attention of the public.
“FNB has been made aware of the banner unlawfully placed on a public road and have alerted the authorities. We are unable to provide any further comment on the matter,” said Virginia Magapatona, FNB’s spokesperson.
The incident was still under investigation and will be followed up once new information is made available.
Seems like someone is just as upset with @FNBSA as we are… whoever did this, please join our group! #StrongerTogether #FNBHeist #FNB pic.twitter.com/QfhxsHDsBB
