This was her second appearance in court since her arrest late last year, but she only appeared briefly before a postponement was announced for further investigations to take place and to ensure she had a lawyer.
Norma Mudondo is accused of stabbing her employer, Wilma van Tonder, to death in her home on Sceales Road after the two had a disagreement, allegedly over money, on 12 October last year. It has since emerged that Van Tonder’s youngest child was in the house at the time of the murder, and was reportedly found a few hours later with his shirt soaked in blood.
Mudondo allegedly fled to KwaZulu-Natal following the incident, but returned to Joburg a few weeks later and was arrested on 20 November by a special task team, in conjunction with the Hawks, at Florida Lake, where it has been reported that she was going to throw a party.
Mudondo will appear in court again on 7 March.
