Douglasdale Police Station and its officers recently embarked on a door-to-door campaign at Vandies informal settlement in Douglasdale to help raise awareness about domestic violence.
According to the head of communications at the station, Captain Mpho Kgaosane, police members conducted a door-to-door campaign to address issues of domestic violence and women and children abuse.

“The awareness started with a visit to a creche called Fandisi School of Good Hope in the same area, where the police interacted with the children, teaching them the importance of protecting their bodies.
“The project was a joint effort between the police, the department of community and safety, and the community,” Kgaosane said.
Kgaosane added that they distributed pamphlets and advised the community to report any suspicious criminal activity to the police station.
