Residents benefited from free health checks, said the club’s Kristi Hansen, and had access to various health checks which included vitals signs, blood pressure tests, HIV, cholesterol, diabetes testing and more.

She added, “The club creates a platform for stakeholders to come and offer health services to the community for free. “Other organisations that participated are South African National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, South African Depression and Anxiety Group (Sadag), Sunninghill Hospital and Witkoppen Clinic.”

Hansen said dentistry and gynaecology mobile clinics were at the venue so residents of Diesploot could access those services.

“This campaign helps relieve pressure from two clinics, OR Tambo and Diepsloot South clinics servicing the area. We also refer cases to the clinics after doing vital signs checks.”
