Jean Berdou resigns from Douglasdale CPF
DOUGLASDALE– Local CPF announces chairperson's resignation on their Facebook page.
After eight years of building and maintaining police-community relations in the community, the Douglasdale Community Policing Forum (CPF)’s chairperson has resigned.
This comes after the forum posted a notice on their Facebook page which served as notice of Advocate Jean Berdou‘s resignation.
It stated that Berdou put many hours of his time into helping, among many other things, to organise sponsorship, drive the forum’s activity, support Douglasdale police directly and participate in CPF awareness events.
The letter highlighted that Berdou had been an active, energetic and passionate servant of the Douglasdale community as part of the forum, and has resigned to focus on his business commitments.
They wished the existing chairperson all the best and, following his example, they encourage the community to join the CPF and to get involved in supporting the police and Metro police in the fight against crime.
Reflecting on his time as chairperson, Berdou said, “It has been a privilege to serve for the past eight years. The Douglasdale police and its community successfully faced many challenges together and I would like to thank the police, CPF and community for the amazing time we [had].”
He mentioned that he is not completely out of the picture as he will continue to chair the Joburg West CPF Cluster which includes Florida, Roodepoort, Linden, Randburg, Honeydew, Cosmo City, Douglasdale and Diepsloot. He will also be sitting on the Gauteng CPF Provincial Board.
“I wish the new team, who will be put in place shortly, all the very best and every success in the endeavours to build and maintain police-community relations. Thank you.”
