Earlier report, 5 July, 9am
Traffic is heavily backed up on and around the William Nicol Drive offramp this morning, 5 July, as metered taxis of the Faraday Taxi Association have parked along the offramp. It has been reported that drivers are checking to see if other taxis use their route.
Metro police, as well as Randburg police, are monitoring the situation. However, they could not confirm if this was indeed the reason that the taxi association gathered this morning.
Fourways Review journalist, Masego Seemela, is currently on scene and reports that taxi drivers are reluctant to speak. Taxi drivers are arriving in their numbers and our reporter has been warned to keep a distance for safety purposes.
