‘It is in my heart to serve’ says Mrs South Africa finalist

LONEHILL – Enolicia Strever from Lonehill brings her passion for sport and people to her journey as she competes as one of the top 25 in this year's Mrs South Africa pageant.

With a passion for sport and people, Enolicia Strever hopes to win this year’s Tammy Taylor Mrs South Africa pageant so that she can use her title to serve others.

The 30-year-old lives in Lonehill with her husband Albe and their two sons, aged five and two. Strever has been selected as one of the top 25 finalists for this year’s pageant, which sees married women from across the country compete for the crown. She is no stranger to beauty contests, having taken part in them since she was a young child.

“My mom has always inspired me to enter beauty pageants as they have enabled me to support my single mom from a very early age,” Strever said.

“From a timing perspective, this year, in particular, was the most suitable time for me to enter Tammy Taylor Mrs South Africa, considering that my two-year-old son is no longer physically stuck to me to be nursed.”

Strever was absolutely overjoyed to be chosen as one of the top 25 finalists this year, although it was difficult to know that the other remarkable women she had made friends with from the top 100 would not be continuing their journeys in Mrs South Africa.

“I believe I was selected as a finalist based on my outlook on life. Growing up in an unstable family environment, my mom always encouraged me and my baby sister to focus on all the positive aspects of life. I have carried this view throughout my life, from as early as I can remember,” she said.

Strever is particularly passionate about sports, which she used to escape an unstable childhood and which provided an avenue for her to study further. As an adult, she has aligned with Altus Sport, a non-profit organisation which focuses on youth development through sport in the Pretoria region, as well as the Naledi Youth Programme.

“If I won Mrs South Africa, it would not be about me, but rather what the title will enable me to do for others. It is in my heart to serve and to support causes that I am most passionate about and ultimately be an example for my boys.

“I would aim to highlight the importance of sport and education for our youth, which holds so much power. It has the power to inspire an individual, a community and a nation. I am a true testimony of the amazing opportunities that sport and education bring about.”
