Suspect arrested for selling stolen vehicle batteries in Paulshof
PAULSHOF – After an investigation, it was found that the batteries were stolen at the suspect's workplace.
A 44-year-old man found to be in possession of eight stolen vehicle batteries was arrested in Paulshof on 27 May.
According to Sandton Police Station spokesperson Captain Granville Meyer, vigilant police members arrested the suspect when they were on patrol. Meyer explained that this was in order to prevent and combat crime that may threaten the safety and security of the community.
Meyer said that the suspect, who is from Pretoria, was arrested when he was found to be in possession of eight motor vehicle batteries that he was busy selling.
“The batteries had an estimated value of R60 000,” said Meyer.
“After investigation, it was found that the batteries were stolen at his workplace.”
The suspect appeared in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court on 29 May.
