These are principles that proudly South African business, Kleen Bin, has been punting since 1977 when it comes to wheelie bins. Kleen Bin patented a trailer-cleaning system to clean wheelie bins in an eco-friendly and convenient way on the same day that your municipal waste is collected.
The idea for Kleen Bin was sparked just after the move from traditional to wheelie bins as it became apparent just how difficult it was to clean wheelie bins and the huge amount of water required. Refuse removal workers touch thousands of bins, and so it becomes a health risk to touch a bin before it has been sanitised – a necessary consideration during the Covid-19 pandemic.
After many prototypes, the Kleen Bin trailer was approved, manufactured and patented. For more than two decades, this company has been keeping bins clean and germ-free. The filtration process built in the trailer means an average of one litre of water is used to clean a bin, and the chemicals used are SABS approved, eco-friendly, biodegradable and proven to kill 99.9 per cent of all known germs and bacteria.
Kleen Bin scrubs, cleans, sanitises and then deodorises bins with a citrus smelling disinfectant on the street outside your property after your refuse has been removed and before you wheel it back into your property. You can choose to have your bin cleaned weekly or every fortnight.
