Association promises a lovely festive market
PAULSHOF– Van Rooyen promised a jam-packed programme for those who will attend the event that is aimed at inspiring supporters of the Guide-Dogs Association.
The South African Guide-Dogs Association for the Blind will host a fundraising event at Gladys Evans Training Centre in Paulshof on 29 November.
Events coordinator for the association, Yolande van Rooyen said the Covid-19 pandemic and lockdown restrictions have placed a major strain on the organisation’s fundraising activities this year.
“With the relaxed Covid-19 regulations, we jumped at the opportunity to host a fundraising event at our premises. We are committed to serve the disabled community and we are pulling out all the stops to make sure that this event is a memorable and profitable one so that we can continue with the life-changing service we offer,” she said
“Our aim with this Christmas market is to inspire our supporters and leave them feeling entertained and enthused for the year ahead.”
Van Rooyen promised a jam-packed programme for the day, filled with exciting activities for young and old.
“Our kennel staff are gearing up to educate participants during a tour of our kennels, whilst a very exciting demonstration from our working dogs awaits spectators in the arena.
“Our orientation and mobility team have prepared some very entertaining and educational activities. Visitors will be encouraged and challenged to step out of their comfort zone and into the shoes of a visually impaired person.”
