Ward 96 councillor hopes for a better year in 2021
FOURWAYS– Mthembu promised the community that his administration will continue working hard and double its efforts in 2021 to ensure that residents receive quality services from the municipality.
The councillor of Ward 96 Sbusiso Mthembu said he was optimistic that the new year would be better than 2020 which was marred by the coronavirus outbreak.
Mthembu shared his compliments for the new year with the residents and business community of his ward that includes Dainfern, Broadacres, Steyn City, Chartwell and Diepsloot among others.
Mthembu promised the community that his administration would continue working hard and double its efforts in 2021 to ensure that residents received quality services from the City.
“In Riverside View, we’ve managed to issue more than 500 title deeds to RDP beneficiaries. The first batch was in March just before the hard lockdown and the second batch was in September this year putting a smile on many people’s faces.
“Some of these people were elderly, above the age of 70 years of age, owning a property for the first time in their lives. We witness emotional and jubilant moments as beneficiaries who have been waiting for their title deeds since 1996 finally see their dreams to have a home come true. This was one of the highlights of my administration this year,” he said.
He also urged residents to stay safe and adhere to all Covid-19 regulations that have been put in place.
“We must not forget that the pandemic is still among us and it continues to claim lives across the country. As responsible residents of Ward 96, let us continue doing what is right to save our lives and those around us. I wish all residents and the business community in Ward 96 a successful year ahead. Stay safe, the virus is out there and therefore we need to exercise extra care and hygiene at all times.”
