Dainfern residents make a difference to Live Life Always
FOURWAYS – A number of Dainfern community members gathered to raise funds for Live Life Always in celebration of all their work done in the greater Fourways community.
Dainfern community members came together once again to host a fundraiser for local environmental non-profit organisation Live Life Always (LLA) on 13 May.
Making a Difference with Dainfern (Madd) is an outreach group formed to help fund charitable projects in and around the city as well as other community events. Their first-ever fundraiser was for the Tears Foundation NPO on 13 April.
The evening started with each of the Madd founders introducing themselves and their role in the group. Sean Williams, the founder of Live Life Always then spoke on his journey to save the environment.
“For a month, I worked at a turtle rehabilitation centre in the Maldives. I got to see turtles coming in, all types of sea creatures. During that time I got to see the devastation of plastic pollution in our oceans.

“On my days off, I did clean-ups along the beach. From then on, I decided to not be someone who complains. I wanted to change the world,” he said.
Member of Madd, Susan Harwood said the night was an overall success with the community coming together for Live Life Always.

“We raised a substantial amount for legendary environmentalist Sean Williams and his LLA team who have recently been making front page news for their incredible efforts in cleaning up the northern suburbs of Johannesburg.
“Sean’s compelling talk and introduction to all his team was followed by two emotive speeches from ladies who described how joining in the clean-ups with LLA have been life-changing for them,” she said.

A number of environmental organisations also spoke on the work they have done because of, or from having worked with Williams in cleaning up the environment. Natalie Laas of Fourways Lions Club also spoke about her experiences working with Williams.
“In helping with the clean-ups, I met a number of amazing people… The one goal Sean had, has changed everyone’s life in some way or another,” she said.

Madd is set to host another community event soon.
