Murder suspects are remanded

DIEPSLOOT – A 50-year-old male victim was allegedly murdered by three suspects in Ext 13 on 6 June.


Three suspects who allegedly committed murder on 6 June in Diepsloot appeared in the Randburg Magistrates’ Court on 9 June.

The suspects, aged between 24 and 29, allegedly assaulted and stabbed to death a 50-year-old man according to Diepsloot police spokesperson, Captain Tinyiko Mathebula. “The 50-year-old male victim was allegedly stabbed under the right armpit and assaulted by three suspects after he had tried to intervene when his stepdaughter was arguing with the suspects. He allegedly drew a knife to defend himself but was overpowered by the suspects,” he said.

The victim was rushed to hospital and was declared dead on arrival. The suspects were traced and arrested in the early hours of 7 June.

They were remanded in custody.
