An excited seven-year-old Nate Griebenow has been racing since the age of three and recently competed in the Inland Championship in Midrand on August 14.
“I used to watch my brother ride and it looked like fun, it’s been my favourite thing since the first time I rode. When I’m not on my real motorbike I love building motorbike tracks in the garden and riding them with my toy bikes,” he said.

The young rider is from a sporting family – his mother enjoys horse-riding while his father and brother ride motorbikes.
“It is the first time that I will be representing Gauteng and I’m very excited to ride with my other teammates from Gauteng. I hope I can ride my fastest so my team can win. I don’t really get nervous, I get very excited at the start and after the gate drops I have to focus on my ride,” he said.

While he earnestly focus on motocross, the young rider also enjoys running and usually competes in sprint races with his friends. Nate is adamant that his motocross career will grow in the future. “I would love to ride for the Husqvarna Factory Racing team when I’m older.”
