Some parts of Lonehill and Paulshof are still without water due to tie-in at Bryanston Reservoir
LONEHILL– Foley said water was fully restored on Sunday (October 24) however some areas experienced water outage again this morning.
The City’s water utility, Johannesburg Water said its technical team was on the ground to resolve water outages in Lonehill and surrounding areas.
This was after Lonehill, Lonehill East, Magaliessig and Paulshof West experienced water outages since last week.
Johannesburg Water spokesperson Eleanor Mavimbela said, “We had an interruption on Thursday for a tie-in. Areas such as Lonehill and surrounds were affected. Unfortunately, there was a challenge with the tie-in and hence areas such as Paulshof were without water. The technical team has been on [site] the entire weekend to do the work. Water in the area has been restored.”
Ward 94 councillor David Foley said water was fully restored on October 24, however, some areas experienced water outages again on the morning of October 25.
“On Thursday [October 22] they turned off water in Bryanston Reservoir so most of Fourways, Dainfern, Lonehill and parts of Paulshof were left without water. It was turned on Friday [October 23] at about 11:00 but Paulshof West and Lonehill Upper East were still impacted. This was resolved yesterday [October 24] late but there is a problem with Paulshof again this morning. Leaking clamps are the main cause of the issue,” Foley concluded.
