A tribute to Moerane
Chairperson of the NCCI and president RCCI said the late former mayor Mpho Moerane will always be remembered for his support of local businesses.
The chairperson of the Northrand Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI) and president of Randburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI), Richard Ntjana said the passing of Mpho Moerane was a great loss for local small businesses.
The late former mayor succumbed to his injuries on May 18 at Milpark Hospital after a car crash on May 9.
He said Moerane was a passionate man who wanted to see action when duty called and was always there to help local businesses thrive.
“We worked with him from his days as the MMC of Infrastructure in the City of Johannesburg and I remember he had pledged to bring service delivery to the people of Johannesburg and better, improved municipal-owned entities that were under his watch. His programmes were empowering small businesses that were rendering services in the city of Johannesburg.
“Moerane had a passion for organised business formation like us at the RCCI and the NCCI. As a businessman, he understood our vision to help guide and direct start-up businesses to comply and deliver quality so they cannot be blacklisted by government as bad service providers.”
