Learners at Pinnacle College Kyalami receive guidance to make informed career decision

Head of marketing and admissions at the school said the expo helps Grade 11 learners familiarise themselves with application processes at the tertiary institutions level.

To help learners make the right career choice, Pinnacle College Kyalami recently hosted GenZ Career Expo at the school.

Different institutions of higher learning attended the event to exhibit the different qualifications that they offer.

Head of marketing and admissions at the school Kerri-Ann Michael said the expo helps Grade 11 learners familiar themselves with application processes at the tertiary institutions level. “The careers expo helps to get Grade 11 learners ready to start their applications next year and to assist the Grade 9 learners in identifying the subjects required for the courses they are interested in. We invite different tertiary institutions to come and showcase the qualifications they offer.”

One of the school teachers responsible for the event, Kim Hall, said the expo gave learners a clear understanding of what they need to do to choose their careers wisely. “It was such a delight to watch the learners interacting with the representatives from the various institutions to find out more about the study opportunities that are available for the career paths they are considering. The learners left inspired and much better informed.”

Grade 9 learner Lexus Ngcobo said the event helped him get crucial information. “The Gen Z Expo was a great learning experience for me! I received very helpful information regarding my future studies at the tertiary level. It was a fun, new experience that created a lot of opportunities for me and my future.”
