Fourways dogs to exercise and play in the safe environment of a newly built bark park at Fourways Crossing
Fourways dogs will now enjoy walking and playing at a newly launched and safe Bark Park in Fourways Crossing Shopping Centre .
Fourways Crossing Shopping Centre launched an urban dog play area called Bark Park on its premises on October 1.
Scores of community members and dog lovers attended a launch to enjoy a fur-friendly event with their dogs while enjoying a live music performance from well-known South African pop music artist, Lloyd Cele.
Marketing manager at Fourways Crossing Shopping Centre, Smriti Boodhram said dog owners will be able to book out the space for themed fur events, doggy classes and other fur-related events to be held in the Bark Park.

“Bark Park consists of a playground for dogs to exercise and play in a controlled environment under the supervision of their owners. Owners get to work, run and play with their dogs. This area will be open seven days a week and will be free of charge for you and your fur baby. However, all dogs coming to the park must have been vaccinated.”
Manager at Woodrock Animal Rescue, Jacqui Martheze who attended the launch, encouraged members of the community to visit their pop-up shops to adopt a dog.
“Our organisation rescues, rehabilitates and rehomes dogs at our clinic which is open 24 hours. All animals in our facility are healthy and well taken care of medically and otherwise. We encourage community members to visit us to see if they can adopt a dog,” Martheze said.
