Chief whip for Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development portfolio committee commends Narysec participants for their resilience
Dozens of young people receive their NQF Level 4 in Real Estate Agent and Road Traffic Law Enforcement through the National Rural Youth Service Corps.
The chief whip for Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development portfolio committee Manketsi Tlhape has congratulated participants who recently completed their NQF Level 4 in Real Estate Agent, and Road Traffic Law Enforcement.
This was through the National Rural Youth Service Corps (Narysec) programme.
The department spearheaded the programme which commenced in 2019 and hosted 88 graduates who were unemployed youth from different districts of Gauteng.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony that was held on November 23 at Indaba Hotel in Fourways, Tlhape commended the participants for their resilience during the training.
“I wish to congratulate the Narysec programme for releasing you into economic opportunities, all 88 of you gathered here today. I also want to thank all TVET colleges involved, Gauteng Narysec personnel and municipalities and private partners for taking care of our rural youth and moulding them into professional people,” Tlhape said.
“To our graduates, do not live only for yourselves, you must give back to your communities and the country which have contributed to your development. This is a remarkable achievement as these are the cardinal drivers of our vision.”
The programme director in Gauteng Babalwa Kuseni said, “The main focus of the Narysec programme is to capacitate rural youth so that they become economically active and contribute towards the upliftment of their rural communities. We have signed agreements with different municipalities in the province to absorb our graduates into their workforce.”
