In an operation that was aimed to address hijacking, theft of, and out, of motor vehicles, gender-based violence, internet scamming, and business robberies amongst others, Douglasdale CPF Sector 4 held a crime awareness campaign on July 20 at Pineslopes and Lonehill Shopping Centres.
The officials from Douglasdale police station alongside Fidelity Security Services were also at the centre of the campaign. The team spread across the centres to engage with motorists, pedestrians and shop owners while handing out brochures that contain important pieces of information about safety and reporting crime.
“As always these operations serve as a visible deterrent as well as the interaction between law enforcement and the public for the purpose of security in the area,” said Freda Boiles while adding that they received positive feedback from the residents and with regards to the campaign.
“We remind members of the community to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to SAPS. On behalf of Sector 4, we would like to thank Douglasdale SAPS, led by Brigadier Arikum, Col Senna, Capt. Tlhetlhane, Capt. Lepheana, Warrant Officer Mokwena, Sergeant Baloyi and Hlatshwayo, and Fidelity Management [amongst others].”
