To combat the high youth unemployment rate in South Africa, the Rocking Future career expos, organised by 3RC, is dedicated to helping school leavers choose the best career path, develop their skills, and find employment in a country with a critically high youth unemployment rate.

For the past 24 years, 3RC has been instrumental in guiding high school learners toward exciting opportunities that await them post-graduation.
Learners buzzed with excitement as they explored opportunities available to them. “What I enjoyed is how today has given people a chance to figure out their passions,” said learner Sven Gaskell from Lonehill International Crawford.
Fellow learner Tyra Khona added, “Today made me realise that there is so much more to life; it helped me to open my mind.”
This period of transition can often be overwhelming for learners, particularly those unsure of their career direction.

At the expos, the 3RC team collaborates with top-tier tertiary educational institutions to help learners navigate their options and determine which careers align with their personalities, skills, and ambitions.
Kay Cheytanoy, the founder of 3RC said they had launched a new initiative called Success Starters, inviting high schools to nominate exceptional Grade 11 learners who demonstrate outstanding potential, to be recognised as the 2025 Success Starter Star.

“We are on a mission to spotlight extraordinary students in our schools who exemplify passion and dedication. We’re looking for young entrepreneurs, talented performers, culinary creators, creative artists, sports champions and tech innovators. We believe these young minds are the future,” added Cheytanov.
In April 2025, 3RC will share a link for schools to nominate one outstanding Grade 11 learner. The top 20 nominees will receive bursaries from leading private tertiary institutions and other exciting prizes. Keep an eye out for more information on the Success Starters campaign, as 3RC continues to inspire the next generation of leaders.
