Douglasdale Retirement Village shares family fun

The fun day was the perfect recipe for a joyful community celebration with warm smiles, lively music, and delicious treats.

Smiles filled the air as Douglasdale Retirement Village (DRV) kicked off its annual family fun day, transforming the community into a lively festival of laughter, music, and mouthwatering delights.

Residents, family, and friends gathered to enjoy a day packed with exciting activities, tasty street food, and unforgettable moments that truly showcased the heart of this vibrant community.

Kids and adults alike delighted in a host of activities designed to make the day memorable. Brenda McCallum, chairperson of the DRV social committee, shared her joy. “We had a great treasure hunt for the little ones, along with a Lego area, face painting, and a range of prize-winning games. There was truly something for everyone of all ages.”

Music lovers were swept up in the lively tunes performed by Lemon ‘n Limelight, whose fantastic playlist had the crowd dancing along to well-loved classics. Meanwhile, the aroma of sizzling boerewors and chicken from Feedem’s braai stations filled the air, drawing hungry visitors to the feast.

The ever-popular coffee & cake bar kept everyone refreshed, and DRV’s renowned made-to-order pancakes wrapped up the day with a sweet touch.
