Said’s 2025 golf day tees off hope for animals in need

Every hole played at the 2025 Said golf day is a shot at healing. Hosted at Dainfern Golf Estate on August 21, this premier fundraiser blends luxury, sport, and compassion all in support of animals and communities in need.

There’s a special kind of fundraiser, one where every swing of the club brings hope, and every hole played is a step closer to healing. On August 21, the Society for Animals in Distress (Said) will host its annual golf day at Dainfern Golf Estate.

“For the animals we care for, this day quite literally keeps the doors open,” says Keshvi Nair, fundraising co-ordinator at Said. “It’s not just about golf; it’s about showing up for compromised animals and their human counterparts.”

The golf day is Said’s most critical fundraiser, raising vital funds to support the work they do in their hospital, mobile clinic, and rural outreach programmes, reaching compromised animals, families in need, and communities where help is scarce. Through rescue, medical treatment, sterilisation, and support for animal owners in vulnerable communities, Said works tirelessly to change lives, both human and animal.

While the golf day promises all the hallmarks of a premier event: a magnificent course, a spirited atmosphere, and phenomenal hospitality, it’s the cause behind it that gives it heart.

“This is an opportunity to play a sport you love, while giving back,” said Nair. “You get to make a difference, and have a fantastic time doing it.” With only a few 4-ball team spaces left, golfers are encouraged to book soon to avoid disappointment.

“Entry is R6 500 per team, which includes halfway catering, a light dinner, and a festive prize-giving where every single player walks away with a prize. From luxury hampers to exclusive experiences and high-end electronics, players will be competing for more than just the leaderboard.”

She said this year’s auction will feature luxury items and exclusive experiences generously donated by top brands, with all proceeds going directly to Said’s lifesaving work.

“The brands joining us are a testament to the credibility and value of the work we do, and the kind of network you become part of when you support this event,” Nair added. “It’s rare to find a space were doing good feels this good.”
