Fourways organisations unite to bring festive joy to 200 underprivileged children

The faces of 200 underprivileged children will light up on December 5 as they receive their donated Christmas gifts from Santa himself.

For many children, Christmas is the most magical time of the year, because of the excitement of gifts under the Christmas tree and Santa’s visit, but for hundreds of children in vulnerable communities, this joy is often out of reach.

This year, a group of Fourways organisations is determined to change that.

Sotheby’s Realty Fourways, The Care Bears, Cedar Lakes Homeowners Association, and the Renew Church Foundation have joined forces to bring festive cheer to 200 children who might otherwise go without.

On December 5, children from Witkoppen Primary School, Lionpark Primary School, Sgodiphola High School, Nokuthula Special School in Lyndhurst, Alexandra Home for the Disabled, and the Kya Sands Development Project will be treated to a day bursting with love, laughter, and celebration.

Joining them will be children from Ginger Park and Clay Oven informal settlements, as well as Diepsloot township. The day’s festivities will include fun games, a delicious lunch, and a special visit from Santa Claus, who will personally hand out a gift to each child.

To make the day even more meaningful, every child will receive a small food hamper to take home. This will serve as a reminder that they are seen, cared for, and valued.

“The magic of giving lies not just in the gift itself, but in the hope it brings,” says Lisa Sukdev, of Sotheby’s Realty Fourways.

“For many of these children, this may be the only gift they receive this Christmas. By sharing, even a little, we remind them, and ourselves, that kindness still lights the world.”

Members of the public are invited to share in the joy by donating toys and non-perishable food items. Contributions can be dropped off at Renew Church (Shop 1, 18 Sunset Avenue, Pineslopes) or Sotheby’s Realty Fourways at Regent Hill Office Park.
