Witkoppen Primary School received a major facelift this Mandela Day as Fourways Crossing and a group of local partners joined forces to improve the school’s learning environment.

Working alongside Splash Coatings Africa, Print Hub, Servest, Eskort, and The Rami Chuene Foundation, volunteers spent the day repainting classrooms, installing new school signage, providing landscaping services, and expanding and revitalising the school’s vegetable garden.

The initiative forms part of Fourways Crossing’s ongoing commitment to investing in communities surrounding the shopping centre through projects that create a lasting impact.

“Although we have completed this Mandela Day project, there is still so much that Witkoppen Primary School needs,” Marketing manager at Fourways Crossing Beverly Sefuralo said.

“We encourage businesses, contractors, and members of the Fourways community to visit the school, identify an area where they can make a difference, and partner with us to continue improving the learning environment.

The principal of Witkoppen Primary School, Philemon Mashimbyi, thanked Fourways Crossing and its partners for investing in the school.

Director of Splash Coatings Africa Bonga Masoka said the collaboration aligned with the company. “This initiative aligns closely with our one bucket splashed dreams programme, through which we work to improve learning environments in public schools.

Since launching the programme, we have revitalised classrooms across several schools, with the objective of creating spaces that inspire learning, creativity, and dignity for young learners.
