Lecture Gumbi’s latest EFC 136 fight at the World Sports Betting Arena ended at 2:27 of the opening round when Coenie Lamprecht secured a rear-naked choke. “I took a full camp to fight Coenie even though I didn’t know much about him,” he said. “According to my training, the kid believes in himself. I like to appreciate the EFC matchmakers that made this fight happen since I came from a loss.”

“There’s nothing that I want to improve or do better, but I believe we have a lot of young fighters that are taking their place in EFC on the global stage. For me, I appreciate the effort the kid put in. Even when there’s no one seeing him, he deserves the best. I came here to win.”

Gumbi was equally open about the central role the promotion has played in shaping his career. Without EFC, he admitted, his path might have looked very different and far less structured.

“I don’t know where I would be without EFC, but I guess I would be in educated violence. To be honest, I’m a violent person. I would like to be back as soon as possible.”

Despite the early end to the fight, Gumbi closed the conversation on a note of genuine support for Lamprecht and a wider message of encouragement to local fighters and fans alike.

“My boy Coenie, keep it silent but shine bright. We love you and support you. As a nation, keep training and shining bright. God for us all. I would like to see you in the UFC; that’s our wish.”

The result leaves Gumbi searching for his next opportunity inside the cage while Lamprecht continues to build his reputation as one of EFC’s most promising young prospects.
