Woolworths Cresta, Cedar and Broadacres laid on a spread of treats for the pupils to enjoy while Flash Harry, a Do-It-Yourself waterproofing brand, waterproofed the school hall and helped to pot some plants, sponsored by Woolworths.

The pupils would learn how to care for the plants which would be planted in the new school grounds when the school relocates. Woolworths and Flash Harry also donated clothes for three homes and orphanages, where some of the special needs pupils reside.
Pupil from The Kings School Robin Hills, Ryan Barrett joined the special needs school for the day and Unity College’s pupils eyes lit up to spend time with Barrett.

Some of the volunteers from Refilwe Community Development Project, which is one of the homes that would receive the clothes, attended Unity’s assembly and received the clothes on behalf of the home.
The assembly was festive and the pupils sand happy birthday to Nelson Mandela before they lined up to snack on the treats.
