Simply invest in a slow cooker and enjoy homestyle meals daily without slaving away in the kitchen. This is a great way to have mates over, have a great time and forget the food until it’s ready.
These three dishes are sure to be regulars:

Slow Cooker Mac & Cheese
Ingredients:
1 bag elbow macaroni
2 cups whole milk
1 can evaporated milk
½ teaspoon salt and pepper
1 sprig fresh thyme
2 tablespoons butter
3 cups shredded cheddar cheese.
Directions:
1. Add evaporated milk, whole milk, macaroni, salt, thyme, butter and cheese into slow cooker. Mix well.
2. Cook on the lowest setting for about 2 hours.
3. Cook until the pasta is al dente.
Serve and enjoy!

Beef Stew with carrots & potatoes
Ingredients:
1 kg boneless beef cut into cubes
1 cup red cooking wine
1 1/2 cups beef broth
2 tablespoons tomato paste
2 tablespoons flour
3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
1 onion, finely chopped
3 medium carrots, peeled and sliced
1/2 bag of baby potatoes, rinsed
1/2 butternut diced
1 teaspoon mixed herbs seasoning
1 bay leaf
Salt and fresh cracked pepper
Directions:
Place meat in slow cooker. In a small bowl mix together the flour, salt, and pepper; pour over meat, and stir to coat meat with flour mixture. Add the rest of the ingredients and meat into the slow cooker and mix all together.
Cover, and cook on low setting for 10 to 12 hours, or on high setting for 4 to 6 hours.
Lasagna
Ingredients:
1kg ground beef (mince)
1 diced onion
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1 jar pasta sauce
1/2 cup water
1 container ricotta cheese
2 cups mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup grated cheddar cheese
1 egg
2 tablespoons fresh parsley or 2 teaspoons dried parsley
6 uncooked lasagna sheets.
Directions:
In a large skillet, brown beef and onion. Add garlic and cook for one minute. Drain
Add meat sauce and water to a skillet and simmer for about five minutes
Mix ricotta, 1 1/2 cups mozzarella, 2 tablespoons cheddar cheese, egg and parsley
Pour 1 cup of meat sauce into slow cooker
Place half the lasagna sheets and half of the ricotta mixture on top of the sauce.
Cover with 2 cups meat sauce. Top with remaining lasagna sheets (which you can break to fit exactly), cheese mixture and meat sauce.
Cook on low for 4–5 hours or until lasagna sheets are soft.
Sprinkle 1/2 cup of mozzarella and remaining cheddar on top.
Cover with the lid to melt the cheese and allow to sit for 10 minutes before serving.
