Rand Symphony Orchestra youth concert

On Sunday 1 June 2014, The Rand Symphony Orchestra will present Gauteng’s Rising Stars in our annual Youth Concert. The concert will begin with an overture dedicated to Nelson Mandela, Champion of South African Youth, and was composed by Conrad Visser, violinist in the Rand Symphony Orchestra and our conductor for this concert.

Our Rising Stars are: Rin Matsuki, 9; Catherine Stiff, 10; Nathan Emans, 11; Grace Zhao, 14; Althea Steynberg, 15; Inge Lubbe, 15; Amy Stessl, 15; Liesel Roux, 16, playing on piano, violin, flute, and clarinet.

The programme will include works by Haydn, Kabalevsky, Liszt, Mercadante, Mozart, Rieding and Vivaldi.
