One of Rotary Club of Kyalami and Rotary International’s main focuses, healthcare is receiving more than just support in Fourways.
Health Days in conjunction with Witkoppen Clinic and Rotary Club of Kyalami has seen significant growth.
This year the club joined the clinic’s mobile unit for three days where they tested more than 720 people for HIV/Aids, diabetes and tuberculosis.
Current club president Peter Rokitta said it was interesting to see how the health day affected communities.
“Out of the people tested, 520 had no previous medical records, and it insured they now have.”
Rokitta was also taken aback by the amount of young people that showed up to be tested.
The club’s involvement at the clinic is an ongoing project and the next Health Day is scheduled for next year.
