Unity searches for riders

Broadacres - Unity College, a special needs school in Broadacres, is gearing up for the Momentum 94.7 Cycle Challenge, but needs the communities support.

The school is looking for parents, friends of Unity and corporate South Africa to either ride the cycle challenge to help them, or sponsor a cyclist for a very worthy cause. Fundraiser and parent at the school, Bronwyn Noome said a substantial amount of money was raised last year.

“At the beginning of the year, I had this need to do something worthwhile and challenging. With the help some of the other parents, we have registered with the Momentum 94.7 Cycle Challenge, Ride for a purpose,” said Noome

The school is registered under Pedal For Disabilities – Unity College. All monies raised will go to the building or legacy fund, depending on the sponsor’s choice.

Unity College hopes to build a Therapy Centre to give special needs children the benefits of therapy. “We need both yours and the public’s assistance, both financially and for tangible items, as Unity College receives no government financial support,” she said.
