Water woes in Fourways

FOURWAYS - A burst water pipe at the corner of Leslie Avenue and William Nicol Drive was the root cause of the lack of water supply for some Fourways areas on Tuesday morning.

Traffic was also slowed down on William Nicol Drive during the morning rush-hour period.

Joburg Water spokesperson Millicent Kabwe said, “The burst pipe has been reported and there are workers on-site fixing the problem. We cannot estimate how long it will take to fix the burst pipe at this stage.

“When repair work is done, the workers need to test the pipe by slowly turning on the water. This means that residents that are on higher ground will receive water later than residents who are on the lower side. We are also deploying trucks to supply residents with water for the day.”
