Young man killed in Summit Road accident

ER24 paramedics attended a grim scene at 7am on 12 September.

According to ER24 spokesman Vanessa Jackson, “A young man has sadly been killed after he was knocked down by a bus while he was trying to cross over Summit Road near the Blue Hills intersection.

“He appeared to be around the age of 19, and his backpack filled with books lay nearby. His injuries had

been so extensive that he had died on the scene prior to the arrival of medical care. No more could be done to try and revive the young man and he was declared

dead,” Jackson said.

No one in the passenger bus was injured.

Midrand police attended the scene and they will be investigating all necessary details into what exactly took place.
