World Dog Agility Championship comes to SA
NORTHGATE - South Africa will be host to this year's FCI World Dog Agility Championships.

The championship will be taking place from 11 to 13 October at the Coca-Cola Dome at the Pet and Me Expo.
This will mark the first time that the event will be hosted outside of Europe. The event has been brought to South Africa by the Kennel Union of Southern Africa.
The championship comprises three days of exciting heats of both individual and team events, with entertainment by the drumming team of Miriam Makeba Girls’ Home and a welcome by councillor Constance Bapela, Johannesburg Speaker of Council.
Zara Langford, spokesperson for the Pet and Me Expo, explained that dog agility is a family-orientated sport that encourages outdoor fun for all ages. “The dogs love the interaction and the discipline of the various jumps, tunnels, weaving poles, tyre jumps, see-saws and more.”
Langford said that internationally affiliated judges would determine excellence in discipline, speed and agility.
Austria, the Czech Republic, Germany, Norway, Spain, Switzerland, USA and South Africa will all be competing for the coveted title of World Agility Champion 2013.
Tickets for the championship can be purchased online or at the door.
