Ark Animal Centre’s new delivery

CHARTWELL- Ark Animal Centre in Chartwell has a new delivery in the form of nine newborn puppies.

Ark Animal Centre is an animal shelter which specialises in the care of puppies, mother dogs and small breed dogs and is the leading shelter of this nature in South Africa.

Candice Eilertsen of the shelter said that the mother dog, Dancer, came to them from another welfare. She had been abandoned and needed a safe place to go in order to deliver her puppies.

“Because we specialise in puppies and pregnant moms we obviously said we would take her in,” she said.

Dancer had been in the shelter’s care for two weeks before she went into labour and delivered nine healthy pups.

“Dancer is doing very well,” Eilertsen said. “She is so calm and content and all nine of her puppies are eating and seem to be in perfect health.”

She added that the puppies will be up for adoption in about eight weeks’ time but luckily Dancer already has a home lined up.

For adoption inquiries contact Candice Eilertsen.
