Moving forward with the fight against cancer

FOURWAYS - Pinkdrive recently unveiled the mobile mammography and gynaecology unit which they will use to aid them in their fight against breast cancer.

The rise in breast cancer statistics and the need for sufficient treatment and education prompted Pinkdrive to add the newest member to their influential mobile clinic, a 14 ton mobile mammography and gynaecology unit called, Noels.

At the official launch on 28 March, Pinkdrive announced their plans to educate women all over the country on the measures they should take to detect and treat breast cancer. Pinkdrive board member Dr Ashwin Hurribance explained that the idea for educational truck was conceived during a board meeting five years ago and now it will help in the fight to protect women from the plight of breast cancer.

The event was attended by major guests and speakers from corporate sponsors to important government officials and hosted by public speaker and author Timothy Maurice Webster.

First Lady of South Africa, Mrs Thobeka Zuma applauded the efforts of Pinkdrive and its founder Noelene Kotschan in addressing the issue of breast cancer in South Africa. Zuma said that the mobile unit will give a platform for women to receive and disseminate information regarding their health.

With the campaign proving to be one of the few successful campaigns between government and the private sector, Deputy Minister of Health Gwen Ramakgopa said that the partnership was important to health in South Africa.
