Mr SA heartthrob wants to help youngster

PINESLOPES - Krüger Swart is a Top 50 finalist for the Mr South Africa competition, and is hoping to use it as a platform to influence and inspire South African youth.

Swart is a 21-year-old model and graphic designer from Pineslopes. He’s a driven young man with his sights on the title of Mr South Africa.

“I feel that I would be the perfect person to inspire the youth, as I am still very young and would relate them when it comes to the different issues that teens face,” he said.

Born in Potchefstroom he attended the North West University, earning a certificate in graphic design.

While there he began work as a model, winning local pageants such as Mr Teen Potch and Mr Junior South Africa.

In 2012 he moved to Johannesburg, leaving his small town life for the big city and working as a designer in Northriding.

Swart said, “I moved up to Joburg at the beginning of 2013, and it was very different to Potchefstroom – a place where nothing really happens and it’s very small. But I think Johannesburg is more for me.”

Swart said that the Mr South Africa competition is an extremely important platform for him, and will help him move forward both in terms of his business life and voicing his views on the social topics that relate to young people.

He added, “The competition opens a lot of doors in the media industry, especially the TV industry, which is where I would like to end up.”

The winner of the pageant will be announced on 12 December 2014.

To vote for Krüger Swart SMS ‘MRSA 045’ to 47439.
