Water wars in Barbeque Downs

BARBEQUE DOWNS - Barbeque Downs residents have experienced a water disruption since 8 February.

In the midst of load shedding, residents found themselves with no water for hours at a time.

On 9 February, it was stated by Joburg Water that a burst pipe on Montrose Road was the cause of this.

The water was off and on intermittently from 2pm on 8 February, and residents were told that their water would return around 6pm, however water services were only on after 10pm.

On 10 February, water services were shut down again around 8.30am. The city has said there is still a problem in the area and it is trying its best to resolve the matter. No time has been stipulated when the water will return. According to Joburg Water, a burst pipe was the cause of this and a team has been dispatched to rectify the problem. Residents can expect the water to return around 6pm.
