Festival celebrates puppy love

PAULSHOF - There were puppy dog eyes and butterfly kisses at the SA Guide-Dog Association for the Blind's Valentine's Puppy Love Festival.

The association decorated their premises at the Gladys Evans training centre on Wroxham Road in red hearts, pink bows and all the added frills that gave festival-goers the feeling of a warm hug.

The festival boasted delectable food, a beer garden and a tea garden and stall upon stall of interesting, beautiful and well-made wares.

As always, the association also held their secondhand book sale and the white elephant sale, that the public has come to look forward to.

Yet the piece de resistance of the festival were the guide-dogs themselves who mingled with the crowds, on leads of course, and garnered a loving smile, tummy rub or head ruffle everywhere they went.

A dog fancy dress and a dancing dogs demonstration rounded off the Valentine’s Day festivities.
