Leaping Frog robots still out of power
DAINFERN - New traffic lights between the Leaping Frog Shopping Centre and Broadacres Drive towards Dainfern have not been working for months, causing traffic congestion on the busy William Nicol Drive that leads to the populous Diepsloot.
Motorists who drive this route daily have been registering their complaints with the Fourways Review.
“Any idea why the four new traffic lights are not being erected and made operational between Leaping Frog and Broadacres Drive/Dainfern? The poles have been up for months but no lights? Is this Steff Stocks’ responsibility or JRA’s?,” queried one motorist who did not identify himself.
Joburg Roads Agency spokesperson, Bertha Peters-Scheepers, said they were still waiting for Eskom to connect the traffic lights to the power cables.
“This is a new JRA intersection. We are awaiting power connection from Eskom which is expected this week, and the agency is looking forward to having the new intersection fully operational within the next two weeks which will assist in easing traffic mobility,” said Scheepers.
