William Nicol gets spruced up

FOURWAYS – The Fourways City Improvement District (FCID), in conjunction with the Indaba Hotel, Urban Genesis, RSS Security and the residents of surrounding suburbs, staged a clean-up operation as part of their 67 minutes for Mandela Day.

It was held on William Nicol Drive between Uranium Road and Broadacres Drive and was a big success according to FCID representative, Nic Papas.

“We did this to show our commitment to a great man, Nelson Mandela,” said Papas.

“Staff from the Indaba Hotel and RSS Security, as well as Peter Rosema, FCID chairman, and Brigette Gow and Thibeli Malebo, both directors of FCID, grabbed a black refuse bag each and the cleaning began.”

Urban Genesis representatives were armed with weed eaters and cutters and proceeded to trim the grass and pick up rubbish. A whopping 87 full refuse bags were collected and removed.

“FCID has committed to embark on similar projects going forward on a regular basis,” Papas concluded.
